I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty picky when it comes to my Apple Watch band. I used the original it came with for a while until I could find a different silicone band I liked more (I prefer a buckle on my strap). Jord contacted me and asked if I would like to try one of their watch bands so of course my answer was yes!

I don't know about you, but I'm loving the high-waisted paper bag shorts and I hope it's a "trend" to stay. My mom has always laughed about how cyclical fashion is and of course let me know during all the comebacks in my childhood - and now too if I'm being honest. I used to raid her closet because her "old" clothes became trendy again and I had easy access to add to my wardrobe.
I'm so glad that the "super low rise" style is out because there were far too many visuals during that time I wish I could have avoided (if you know what I mean...). After having Stevie my body isn't the same as it used to be and I love being able to find cute, but comfortable clothes that fit will even though I'm not my "usual size". That is a whole other adjustment though.
I don't know about you but I love a good summer outfit. When the temperatures are over a 100 degrees nothing is better than a good dress! I'm a bargain shopping so I found some great deals on dupes below plus some other finds that are perfect for the weather.
I'm loving all of the bright and pleated dresses for summer. Add a great pair of espadrilles and a straw purse and you are set for those hot summer days. Shop these deals below or on my Style page.
I’m impatiently waiting for the weather to cool down, even though I know it does this every year. We get a beautiful week in the 70’s before it shoots back up to the high 80’s and 90’s because “fall” actually hits.
I’m dying to wear all my new cardigans for this fall season. I’ve always been a fan of stripes and I’m loving that color blocking is back in style because I’m stocking up on all my favorites!
With such fickle weather I prefer a cardigan over a chunky sweater because half the time I end up taking it off throughout the day anyway. But I love being able to dress it up or down with a good bootie.
I’ve been on the hunt for a leopard print bootie, and these sock booties I found are so cute I can’t wait to wear them all season!
It may only be July, but it's back to school for the teachers before our students come. It's that time of year where we go full force with our classroom decor, standard analysis, lesson planning, and PLCs. But one thing that I think is so important is making sure you have that perfect teacher wardrobe so you're ready to transition from summer to school year.
This is the time of year where I usually clean out my closet, donate what I don't wear anymore, and make sure I am stocked on the basics so I can mix and match. This year that will have to wait until I have this baby (who knows what I will still fit into!) but I found some great splurges and saves for those every day necessities for your teacher wardrobe.
Basic tees are a must to mix and match with. They can be worn with dress pants, skirts, tied up, or paired with a cardigan or a kimono. Lately I've been on the trend of tying my tee over a dress because of the bump!
Cardigans/sweaters are a staple in my wardrobe for the classroom. The temperature is never consistent so it's nice to always have one to thrown on. Plus if you want to wear that tank top or non-dress code appropriate top, you can throw the cardigan on top and now your outfit still works!
Dresses and jumpsuits are perfect for dressing up or dressing down. I always, always check the measurements and reviews though to make sure the length will be good for the classroom and so that it isn't too sheer (otherwise I wear my lace extenders). I love a basic t-shirt dress that I can layer a cardigan over, or a maxi that I'm comfortable in all day long.
Let's be real, when you're on your feet running around your classroom all day you want to be comfortable. My go-to shoes are my Birkenstocks and I'm dying for another pair...I just don't want to spend the money right now! I love my leather Birks and have fallen even more in love with my waterproof ones (I convinced my best friend they're amazing and she already bought two pairs!). I also live in my my Nikes and my platform flats. Sometimes when I want to dress it up a bit I'll wear a wedge or a chunky heel so I'm still comfortable but don't look like one of my eighth graders!
I could go on and on, but these are just some of my favorites (and basics) that I always make sure I have in my wardrobe for the beginning of the year. I hope you're ready for the school year too and have some fun with your back to school shopping too! I know I spend far too much on my students and classroom and have to remember to treat myself as well!
As a teacher I am constantly checking the time, making sure I’m on schedule, and sending my students on their way. Now that it’s summer you would think that time isn’t as regulated for me, but I’m just one of those people that needs consistency. Here I am on summer break scheduling professional developments, meeting with my team, and naturally, always checking my watch to make sure I’m on time.
What better way to start my summer than partnering with Jord for a giveaway! Plus, Father’s Day is coming up and their mens collection is phenomenal. What better gift to give that special man in your life but time?
Jord is an amazing company and I have to admit, I now own multiple watches from them, they’re just so modern and lightweight.
My watch is from the Frankie series and I love the Zebrawood paired with the Champagne face. There are multiple styles available in this series and this watch also has the ability to be customized with an engraving. Other than the Cora and Sawyer series, Jord watches can be personalized, perfect for gifting a unique, personalized timepiece.
I like to learn more about companies before I collaborate with them, and Jord is a phenomenal company. Their story and quality is what keeps me coming back to them. They focus on creating modern pieces for everyone with quality materials and care.
They value sustainability and efficiency show their vision of the watches that they create. They use 100% natural wood, refraining from harsh chemicals, and use stainless steel clasps which all show the truth in their vision. This is something that keeps me coming back to companies when they are true to their mission and the quality of their products.
The entry form is so easy, enter HERE for a chance to win a $100 credit!

It's the first day of spring so naturally I had to wear florals because it's so fitting. Spring is one of my favorite times of the year. The weather is wonderful, the flowers so fresh, and of course baseball....make for a great time of year. I love layering and too often baby-doll style dresses are just not length appropriate for work. Tulle skirts come in so handy for creating a more versatile look and adding that extra coverage and length.
I have this tulle skirt in about 5 different colors, it's one of my favorites for sure. I linked it below and it's under $25! This is an older dress but I linked similar along with some save and splurge flats similar to the ones I'm wearing. Happy Spring!
The Target experience, walk in looking for one thing and leave with twenty other things you didn't actually need...am I right? On my last Target trip I decided to peruse the clothing clearance and I found some treasures on major sale.
I saw these cargo skinnies and fell in love instantly, to the point that I didn't even try them on, I figured hey, $6 and my size let's just go for it! Best decision of my day. The fit is amazing, and they're so comfortable I couldn't believe how good of a deal they were. I linked the pairs I found online along with the rest of my outfit below, plus my amazing cactus shoes that are also on major sale as well. |
