I don't know about you, but here in Arizona I don't really have a seasonal wardrobe. Sure I have some sweaters and jackets that I store away until I can use them for a few months, but for the most part my closet stays the same throughout the year. And, if you're like me you like to shop your closet and try to make different items work for multiple seasons.
One thing that I like to do is take my spring and summer dresses and transition them for fall!

I love taking a simple bright dress and adding a few accessories to make it more fitting for a new season. Simply switching out the shoes already makes a huge difference.
Another easy fix is adding a cover. I tend to go for flannel or denim and when it's actually cold outside (still in the 100+ degree weather over here...) I'll add a cardigan or light jacket.
And of course my favorite accessory to add to make an outfit seem even more ready for fall is to add a hat! I love a good wide brim hat & it makes a huge difference when you are transitioning an outfit.
What's your favorite way to transition an outfit to a new season?
If you didn't already know today and tomorrow at Old Navy it's 50% off everything plus you can get free shipping too! I have really been working on only buying what I need and making sure I get rid of old items I haven't worn in a while so make room. But, I can't resist this deal especially because I have fallen in love with their activewear tops!

These are all activewear tops that I own and currently have a few more in my cart because they're so good! The tulip back top is probably my favorite and I have a few in my cart right now because they're perfect for working out or just wearing for an athleisure look.
I was hesitant at first but I actually really like my leggings and biker shorts and have been eyeing another pair for a while so 50% is the perfect time to snag a new pair!
With so many people working from home now, loungewear is huge. I tend to get dressed in the morning but then find myself in comfies later in the day. I have realized I don't have a ton of loungewear and I found the cutest joggers and pants. Plus these Lux tee's are my favorite and are good for all occasions (def bought some more!).
It doesn't quite feel like fall in Arizona yet but I am so ready and a cozy cardigan is my favorite. I found so many cute ones that I want for this season - now I just need to clean out the ones I don't wear anymore!
I personally love fall because I can finally start wearing jeans again and I love adding in skirts (over tights when it's colder) to mix up my look. I just snagged a new pair of rockstars because they are my favorite fit and I can't pass up 50% off!
Let me know what you snag and remember you also get free shipping with no minimum if you use the code freeship!
Trying something new this week and giving you 5 of my favorite Amazon finds for transitioning to fall! Here in Arizona fall doesn't happen until late October/November but a girl can dream right? This is why I love pieces that are versatile so that I can wear them for all different seasons.
I’m impatiently waiting for the weather to cool down, even though I know it does this every year. We get a beautiful week in the 70’s before it shoots back up to the high 80’s and 90’s because “fall” actually hits.
I’m dying to wear all my new cardigans for this fall season. I’ve always been a fan of stripes and I’m loving that color blocking is back in style because I’m stocking up on all my favorites!
With such fickle weather I prefer a cardigan over a chunky sweater because half the time I end up taking it off throughout the day anyway. But I love being able to dress it up or down with a good bootie.
I’ve been on the hunt for a leopard print bootie, and these sock booties I found are so cute I can’t wait to wear them all season!
It may only be July, but it's back to school for the teachers before our students come. It's that time of year where we go full force with our classroom decor, standard analysis, lesson planning, and PLCs. But one thing that I think is so important is making sure you have that perfect teacher wardrobe so you're ready to transition from summer to school year.
This is the time of year where I usually clean out my closet, donate what I don't wear anymore, and make sure I am stocked on the basics so I can mix and match. This year that will have to wait until I have this baby (who knows what I will still fit into!) but I found some great splurges and saves for those every day necessities for your teacher wardrobe.
Basic tees are a must to mix and match with. They can be worn with dress pants, skirts, tied up, or paired with a cardigan or a kimono. Lately I've been on the trend of tying my tee over a dress because of the bump!
Cardigans/sweaters are a staple in my wardrobe for the classroom. The temperature is never consistent so it's nice to always have one to thrown on. Plus if you want to wear that tank top or non-dress code appropriate top, you can throw the cardigan on top and now your outfit still works!
Dresses and jumpsuits are perfect for dressing up or dressing down. I always, always check the measurements and reviews though to make sure the length will be good for the classroom and so that it isn't too sheer (otherwise I wear my lace extenders). I love a basic t-shirt dress that I can layer a cardigan over, or a maxi that I'm comfortable in all day long.
Let's be real, when you're on your feet running around your classroom all day you want to be comfortable. My go-to shoes are my Birkenstocks and I'm dying for another pair...I just don't want to spend the money right now! I love my leather Birks and have fallen even more in love with my waterproof ones (I convinced my best friend they're amazing and she already bought two pairs!). I also live in my my Nikes and my platform flats. Sometimes when I want to dress it up a bit I'll wear a wedge or a chunky heel so I'm still comfortable but don't look like one of my eighth graders!
I could go on and on, but these are just some of my favorites (and basics) that I always make sure I have in my wardrobe for the beginning of the year. I hope you're ready for the school year too and have some fun with your back to school shopping too! I know I spend far too much on my students and classroom and have to remember to treat myself as well!
