April is almost over meaning Mothers Day is fast approaching. If you're like me you're always looking for something your mom will actually use. But, when I buy my mom practical things I like to make sure I can also find her something that is fun too. For Christmas most of her gifts were practical, so I decided to look for something she would like but I know she wouldn't spend her own money on. Plus, I also like to look for what I would want too - my husband is very good at purchasing gifts off my list. So I'm sharing below just a few ideas plus my most recent Ulta purchase! PS if you don't already have it, sign up for a Rakuten account, it's 10% cash back at Ulta right now! I recently bought CeraVe from Costco - a great deallinked here if you have a membership, and I don't think I'll go back to the lotion I was using. It feels so hydrating even though it's a thicker cream, but I love that it has hyaluronic acid and that it's also fragrance free. I think this would be a great gift, I would love to receive it and it could be made into a little cute gift basket with some more little sample body care items like the first aid beauty trio kit that includes their Ultra Repair Cream (use daily on my face), KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub with 10% AHA, and their Pure Skin Face Cleanser.
And speaking of body care, I love a good scrub. Ouai is a splurge for me ($38 for 8.8oz) but I absolutely love this body and scalp scrub. It's key ingredients are sugar and coconut oil, it smells like a dream and smells so good. I used it more as a scalp scrub and then use the run off for my body. Like I said, it's more expensive so I like to be frugal with how much I use. Franks is one that I was gifted and really enjoy using. A great gift for a coffee lover because it smells so strong and delicious - if you're like me and love the smell of coffee. It's a natural, vegan scrub blended with cold-pressed sweet almond oil and vitamin E. It's also more affordable at $17 for 7oz. Last up is the Tea Hut brand. This is my weekly scrub I use. I normally wait until there is a sale or honestly check other places and find that it's cheaper - Walmart right now only $7.78, Target $8 - but it's still a good deal ay $10 for 18.8oz
I'm an Arizona girl, and here in the desert sunscreen is a daily necessity. Even if I don't think I'm going to be in the sun, I still apply sunscreen every morning. My go to for the last two years has been the Tula Protect and Glow Sunscreen. I love the glow it gives me and often times I'll pair it with my primer and not wear any foundation. Supergoop is a newer discovery for me and I have only tried a few of their products. I love the resetting mineral powder - I use translucent and I also really like theglow oil andglow stick. Their resetting spray is on my wish list and is great for the makeup wearing that spends time outside.
And now to my most recent order. I love perfume, and I finally added a more expensive one to my list last year and got it for Christmas - Very Good Girl, and now I have been on a kick to find another new scent. I love trying perfumes, I still have a Scentbird subscription (I get a new one every three months) to try new scents and love buying travel sizes. I just purchased all of these (except the Dolce & Gabbana because I already own it) and cannot wait to try them. I have smelled a few of these in store and others from magazines so I'm excited to try out some new scents. I think perfume is such a nice gift especially if you already know a perfume they like you can use to help find one in a similar scent family. I read reviews for all of these and hope that a few work for me. Ulta is also giving away a tote bag if you have a fragrance purchase over $60
